MISSION STATEMENT:
- WE2 is a nonpartisan women’s coalition to research, educate and empower local involvement and action in issues that affect Dunwoody.
- WE2 Dunwoody is a motivated non-partisan group of women who recognize the need to develop a quick and easy method for learning, researching and disseminating factual information that affect and matter to our community. The motto of the group is easy actions make a difference. (small actions make a large impact?)
- The realization that women in Dunwoody make up 51% of the population, yet are less likely to be politically informed or active, led to the formation of WE2.
- Local legislative decisions have a huge impact on our everyday lives. Yet, women in our community who are the leaders in business, volunteerism and the center of churches, schools and most importantly- their families, are the least involved in these decisions. Usually the noninvolvement is due to a lack of time and information. Not lack of interest.
- WE2 was formed to address both of these issues. By dividing and selectively attending important meetings, reading and breaking down key policies, laws and issues and reporting back to the group at large, we plan to keep our membership informed and actively involved in local decisions and policy.
- WE2 is a fact based group. We will provide basic facts and allow our very educated population to form their own opinions. The key is to provide the information in a quick synopsis format that references more detailed areas that our membership can study as their leisure and interest levels allow.
- WE2 Dunwoody’s ultimate goal is to provide a forum and resource that can help inform and shape local policy, issues and legislation that matter and affect our households. By providing facts, WE2 will empower Women in Dunwoody to understand, define and impact policy issues and decisions that affect our community now and for future generations.
